Barmenia Health Insurance (part of BarmeniaGothaer since 2024) offers its employer-sponsored health insurance under the BesserGesund line—with a health budget covering everything (BesserGesund Budget, formerly “WellYou pure”) and a dental-only budget (BesserGesund Dental Budget).
With the BesserGesund Budget, employers choose one of three budget tiers— €300, €600, or €900 per year—with uniform, age-independent contributions ranging from €12.90 to €29.00 per month. The budget covers a wide range of services: outpatient care, including alternative practitioners, naturopathic treatments, and osteopathy (according to GebüH/Hufeland), medications, medical devices, and assistive devices, hearing aids, and preventive care (including glaucoma screening). Dental services are reimbursed at 100% within the budget (replacement, treatment, preventive care, orthodontic treatment following an accident). Vision aids (€170–210 per year) and dental preventive care, including teeth whitening (€60–100 per year), are subject to limits depending on the plan tier.
Each budget plan includes four assistance services, including a 24/7 health hotline. Coverage begins on the first day with no medical exam and no waiting period; premiums remain stable through December 31, 2026. Optional premium waivers (for parental leave, long-term care, or inability to work) can be included. Available for companies with 5 or more employees (Budget Tier 300 € for 10 or more).
