About the Insurer
Generali Deutschland Krankenversicherung (formerly Central Krankenversicherung, Cologne, until 2020) is part of the international Generali Group. Its group health insurance plan is based on a 360° concept consisting of five modules that can be freely combined.
At the heart of the plan is “My Health Budget,” which offers five tiers ranging from €300 to €1,500 and covers 100% of the costs up to the agreed-upon maximum reimbursement. Coverage includes, among other things, alternative medicine and naturopathic treatments (provided by doctors and naturopaths), refractive surgery/LASIK, vision aids, dental prophylaxis, preventive checkups with no age limits or required intervals, prevention courses, vaccinations (including travel vaccinations), medications, therapeutic aids, and assistive devices, as well as hearing aids. Additional modules— My Dental Coverage, Preventive Care Coverage, Hospitalization Coverage, and Travel Coverage —are also available.
In addition, there are comprehensive services: telemedicine with video consultations (doctors from 30 specialties, available around the clock, even from abroad), a health app, and a health hotline. Coverage is provided without a medical exam and without a waiting period; pre-existing conditions and ongoing treatments are also covered. A premium waiver of up to 36 months is available during periods of unemployment, and family members can be covered through a family insurance option.
