About the Insurer
R+V Health Insurance (R+V Versicherung, Wiesbaden; part of the cooperative DZ Bank Group) has consolidated its employer-sponsored health insurance into the PROFIL Health Plan. At its core is the PROFIL Health Budget, which offers five budget tiers ranging from €300 to €1,500 per year.
The budget covers a wide range of services: outpatient naturopathic treatments, including osteopathy provided by physicians and naturopaths (Hufeland Directory), eyeglasses and contact lenses, as well as surgeries to correct visual acuity; prescribed medications, therapeutic products, and medical aids; preventive care beyond the scope of the GKV catalog, including travel vaccinations; and dental prophylaxis (professional teeth cleaning, composite fillings, periodontal treatment, and root canal treatment). Dental services are covered without a co-payment scale or waiting period; accident-related orthodontic treatment is reimbursed at 100%.
Coverage can be obtained with as few as 5 employees, with no medical exam or waiting period required (for 10 or more employees, ongoing treatments are also included). Premium waivers are available during periods of unpaid leave, and family members can be covered under the plan. Additional dental coverage options (Dental 900 / Dental 1800 PROFIL) and family-friendly services are also available. Sub-budgets are available for specific areas such as vision aids and preventive dental care.
